About the San Diego ERA

The San Diego Chapter of the Electronics Representatives Association was formed to serve the specialized needs of the San Diego market in southern California. Over the past 15 years the entire San Diego manufacturing environment has gone through a complete metamorphisis. Gone is the era of the aerospace industry. In its place, a highly competitive and fast reacting assortment of companies have appeared targeting the computer industry, medical instrumentation markets, biomedical industry, telecommunications, and satellite communications. In addition, an array of independent consultants serving the needs of each of these markets has developed. San Diego County alone now has over 2,000,000 residents and a market with an industry base larger than that of Orange County in California. The strength of the marketplace is the hundreds of small entrepreneurs having developed these new technologies.
